Brother Pastor Andre R. Williams began serving in ministry at the age of 14. He has served the Body of Christ as an Associate Minister, Youth Pastor, and Senior Pastor. After 18 years of serving in many different capacities, Pastor accepted the role of Senior Pastor of the Hebron Baptist Church located in Michigan City, MS. Under his leadership, the church has retired debt and relocated the church to a new sanctuary that was erected in June of 2018. Pastor Williams serves with the spirit of inclusion. Many of the ministries that Pastor Williams has created and or lead produced collaboration between many different organizations expanding the reach of his ministry. Brother Williams leads with a loving heart and a giving spirit both in and outside of the fraternity.
A Family Man
Brother Williams has been married to Shalonda Williams for 18 years. Mrs. Williams is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc and a 25-year educator at Booker T. Washington High School. She is also a talented vocalist who sang for President Barack Obama during the 2011 Booker T. Washington High School Commencement Ceremony. Together they have four children: Lashaunda, Lashaun, Jermiah, and Jaylen. The youngest of the Williams Family is grandson Amair.
Community Engagement The Yellow Rose Brunch
The Yellow Rose Brunch is an elegant celebration that annually honors 12 extraordinary women of the Divine 9 for their transformative contributions to the Greater Memphis community. Brother Andre R. Williams is the brainchild of this event in collaboration with Brother Dr. Archie Moss, Jr, and Brother Willie MacDavid, The AWM Brotherhood Collective.
Community Engagement The Gentlemen's League
The Gentlemen’s League is an all-male, school-based mentorship program that serves Boys of Color in grades 3-12, through whole-child targeted supports, incentive programs, service learning, social-emotional development, and intentional mentoring that creates opportunities for children to experience joy and success. Brother Pastor Andre R. Williams proudly serves as the Board Chair.
Community Engagement The Men United Scholarship Fund
In 2013, Brother Pastor Andre R. Williams established the Men United Scholarship Fund for graduating high school senior of Ashland High School in Lamar, MS. Funds for the scholarship come from nine churches in the Benton County Community alone with local business owners, and members of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. The Fund has awarded over $150,000 to assist students with the out-of-pocket expenses assocated entering higher education.
Community Engagement Star Academy Charter School Mock Elections
During the 2024 United States Presidental elections, Brother Pastor Andre R. Williams conducted a Mock Election with the middle school students of STAR Academy. Students applied for a STAR Voter's Registration Card, which will be sent to them if approved. Students must presented a STAR Voter Registration Card to cast their ballot, and on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 10:00 AM, the STAR Academy Election Polls opened. The goal is to allow the students to have an experience worth sharing with their families, resulting in an increased turnout at the election polls.
